Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe
Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. Cream the Butter and Sugars:
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla:
    • Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next.
    • Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients:
    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Mix Dry Ingredients with Wet Ingredients:
    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
  6. Fold in Chocolate Chips:
    • Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Scoop the Cookies:
    • Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.
  9. Cool:
    • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Tips:

  • Butter: Make sure the butter is softened but not melted for the best texture.
  • Chilling Dough: For thicker cookies, chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before baking.
  • Add-Ins: You can customize your cookies by adding nuts, dried fruit, or different types of chocolate.

Enjoy these warm, gooey, and perfectly chewy chocolate chip cookies with a glass of milk or on their own!
