Imagine a toasted, buttery bread or a freshly baked roll, layered with your choice of fluffy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon or savory sausage, and a slice of melted cheese.


The beauty of a breakfast sandwich is its versatility. Customize it to your taste with additional toppings like fresh avocado, ripe tomatoes, or a crisp lettuce leaf. For an extra kick, add a dash of hot sauce or a spread of your favorite condiments. Whether you prefer a classic bacon, egg, and cheese combo or a more adventurous creation with smoked salmon or sautéed mushrooms, the breakfast sandwich is a canvas for your culinary creativity.
Quick to prepare and packed with flavor, a breakfast sandwich is the perfect solution for busy mornings or a leisurely brunch. Its satisfying combination of ingredients makes it a go-to choice for those who crave a hearty, flavorful start to their day.

Ingredients:

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 slices of bread (your choice: whole wheat, sourdough, or brioche)
  • 2 slices of cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or American work well)
  • 2 slices of cooked bacon or 1 cooked sausage patty (optional, for added protein)
  • 1/4 avocado, sliced (optional)
  • 1/2 tomato, sliced (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon butter or oil (for cooking)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh herbs like chives or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Eggs:
    • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil.
    • Crack the eggs into the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook to your desired level (sunny-side up, over-easy, or scrambled). For a sunny-side-up egg, cook until the whites are set but the yolk is still runny.
  2. Toast the Bread:
    • While the eggs are cooking, toast the slices of bread to your preferred level of crispiness using a toaster or another skillet.
  3. Assemble the Sandwich:
    • Once the bread is toasted, place a slice of cheese on one piece of the toasted bread.
    • If using bacon or sausage, place it on top of the cheese.
    • Add the cooked egg on top of the bacon or sausage.
    • If desired, add avocado slices and tomato slices on top of the egg.
    • Top with the remaining slice of toasted bread.
  4. Optional: Melt the Cheese:
    • To melt the cheese, you can place the assembled sandwich back in the skillet over low heat and cover with a lid for a minute or two until the cheese is melted and the sandwich is heated through.
  5. Serve:
    • Cut the sandwich in half and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
